In the process, the individual prepares the lab, testing tools and equipment and metal samples for testing, and carries out various tests as per the approved metal testing methods.
Specific Duties No experience necessary, training provided.
Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
Ability to work within a fast-paced environment as an integral member of a dynamic team.
Once trained, recognizing and reporting out of tolerance conditions.
Collect, compile, measure, summarize, record, and report metallographic technical data.
Demonstrates behavior & performance to effectively contribute to an independent & self-managing team.
Identifies barriers to success and solicits help from management when needed.
Performs other duties & special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Training Steel Industry experience a plus! High school diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, gripping and bending.
Moderate lifting is required.
High mental and visual effort required.
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
Safety / Hazards Steel toed shoes may be required in the production area due to physical hazards from moving equipment, machine parts and products.
ANSI Z87.
1 standard safety glasses required in production area due to dust, oils, and debris.
May be Exposed to flying objects such as scrap metal and sparks.
